  • Make-A-Wish Child Gets Royal Treatment at Miranda's Princess Ball

March 2, 2015 - A very special wish came true for a little girl yesterday. Miranda, 4, who suffers from Kostmann Syndrome, wished to be a princess for a day. Make-A-Wish Eastern Ontario teamed up with the Fairmont Chateau Laurier, Fetes en Boites, and many other local businesses and community members who donated their time and services to throw Miranda an inagural Princess Ball to remember.

More than 100 guests greeted Princess Miranda at the ball held in her honour. As she entered the room, a bugler announced her arrival and RCMP officers in full uniform saluted her. Deputy Mayor Mark Taylor presented Miranda with her crown, and Major Chloe Summerfield read a statement of congratulations on behalf of the Governor General and his wife. The celebrations continued throughout the day as guests enjoyed high tea, singing and dancing performances, and the chance to celebrate Miranda's wish come true.

Special thanks to all of the wonderful people who came together to help make Miranda's day so special.
