Austin's Wish to be an Ottawa Senators Sports Broadcaster!

Austin is 17-years old and a huge Ottawa Senators fan! Austin’s wish was to be an Ottawa Senators sports broadcaster. With his clever humour, cheeky personality, and kind spirit Austin has all of the skills to be a fantastic sports broadcaster.

Austin had his wish reveal on March 28th, 2018 just one day before his wish was going to come true! Austin and his family arrived at Brooks Brothers where Austin was surprised with the news that his wish would come true. He was going to spend a day with the Ottawa Senators and be their sports broadcaster! At the store there was an array of Ottawa Senators merchandise along with a brand new Brooks Brothers suit to make sure he looked the part.

The next day Austin and his family got in a limo and were taken to the Canadian Tire Centre where Austin watched the pre-game skate and had a chance to meet the team! Karlsson personally gave Austin his very own jersey that was signed by every player as they left the rink.

The Ottawa Senators helped create a phenomenal wish experience for their #1 fan. Austin had the chance to visit the dressing room with media availability and got to interview the players. He then went to the press room and asked the opening question during interviews to coach Boucher. That evening Austin went to dinner in the Alumni lounge with Todd White. Right after supper coach Boucher gave Austin the honour of announcing the starting lineup ahead of the game and the players gave him quite the ovation during each call. He participated in the team chant and pre-game pump-up. To top it off Austin got the full experience of his dream job as he got to team up with TSN’s Brent Wallace to interview Ottawa Senators forward Bobby Ryan during the first intermission of their game against the Florida Panthers!

The Senators took the win that night and when Austin went to congratulate them in the dressing room after the game he was awarded the winning puck! Austin had a magical day with never-ending surprises from the Ottawa Senators who made him feel like he was a part of the team. This wish was a dream come true for Austin!

We would like to thank the Ottawa Senators organization, players, and staff for helping make Austin’s wish come true!

Thank you to everyone who took part in Austin’s wish: Brooks Brothers, Brookstreet Hotel, Jack Astor’s, Sportchek, Tip Limo, PartyMart, and Sony
