Oliver's wish to have a playroom makeover

Oliver, five, who suffers from Aplastic Anemia, wished for a playroom makeover. Make-A-Wish Eastern Ontario teamed up with Pita Pit in Kingston and Rope for Hope Ambassador Mackenzie, who adopted Oliver's wish!

It was two days of fun and excitement, as Oliver's family was sent off to be spoiled on an overnight luxury stay at the Delta Waterfront Hotel in Kingston! After spending family time relaxing by the fabulous pool, they were treated to a delicious dinner at the Delta's Aqua Terra restaurant. Meanwhile, talented volunteers from PitaPit laid flooring, installed baseboards, and painted what was to become Oliver's special playroom. Dave Sheridan offered his artistic skills and created a mesmerizing space themed wall mural. Furniture was delivered by The Brick, and Sony was generous with providing high tech gadgets like a PlayStation, TV, and tablet that added to playtime fun. All of the volunteers from Mackenzie's team, PitaPit and MAWEO worked tirelessly for two days of shopping, building, decorating, and setting up for Oliver's big reveal party on his fifth birthday!

Oliver's family pulled up to the house in a stretch limo, and was greeted by cheering family and friends! He was thrilled touring his new playroom with shelves full of his favourite toys. Everyone enjoyed a wonderful party, while Ollie and his friends played in his amazing new space.

Special thanks to Mackenzie who adopted Oliver's wish and to Pita Pit, who provided awesome volunteers and amazing food to all of the helpers throughout the day. Thanks to Kingston area businesses like Bermuda Limousine, Rona and The Brick for making Oliver's wish one to remember!
