Tysen's wish to meet Adam Sandler

Tysen is a very mature and caring boy. He was diagnosed with Pfeiffer Syndrome at birth and had his first surgery when he was just nine days old.

Tysen loves to watch Adam Sandler movies and whenever friends and family come to visit from distant places, he tries to persuade them to watch one of Adam’s movies with him. Of course, when asked what his most cherished wish was, his answer was to meet Adam Sandler in person at Happy Madison Studios in Los Angeles, California.

After anticipating his wish for just over a year, Tysen’s wish finally became a reality! Tysen and his family arrived at Happy Madison Studios in a shiny limousine. When they arrived, Adam was waiting outside and in Adam Sandler style asked, “Where is my Tysen?!” Right away, Tysen felt at home and very comfortable with Adam.

Tysen and Adam got right down to business and talked extensively about similar likes and dislikes and discovered they both love sports; especially hockey and basketball. Tysen had prepared a list of questions and one of them was, "Did Adam own a dog?" Right then and there, Adam started calling out “Babu, Babu” and out ran a one year-old bull dog. Tysen thought this was hilarious!

Adam surprised the family by generously offering box tickets to the LA Lakers basketball game that evening, including a personal driver to take them to and from the game. While the arrangements were being made, Tysen and Adam shot a few hoops in Adam’s personal courtyard!

Luckily for Tysen, there were still more surprises in store. While at the Happy Madison studio, arrangements were made for him to meet another well-known actor and friend of Adam Sandler’s, David Spade. He gave Tysen a quick tour of the Rules of Engagement set and Tysen got to sit in the director's chair. It was everything he could have ever dreamed.

Tysen had such a great wish experience that he was inspired to help grant the wishes of other kids like him. Since then, Tysen has become an incredible fundraising champion, raising thousands of dollars as part of his Mission to a Million campaign in support of Make-A-Wish Eastern Ontario.

You are amazing Tysen. Thank you for paying your experience forward to so many deserving wish kids!
